Updates On All Sides

Today is an ‘eh’ day for me.  Nothing exciting but nothing horrible either.  Which is good, right?

But I did want to give y’all some updates on my on-going exercise plan and writing.

Exercise:

So far so good.  Well, at least with working out 4 days a week.  However, I have not ran at all.  The weather is not liking me on this point.  Every time I have a day off or a half day the sky gets gray and cloudy and it starts to rain.  It seems to never fail.  I have the motivation, the time, but outside will not cooperate with me. 

I personally think it is a conspiracy against me.  The universe does not want me outside running.  So be it. I will save up my little pennies and buy me a treadmill.  Where am I going to put it?  No idea….but it will go somewhere. Maybe the Hubby’s room where he stores all his tools.  He really doesn’t need that….right?

I have been doing other stuff inside –  like Pilate’s, free weights, the Bender Ball, and some leg exercises.  On Friday I got really daring and decided to do a set of work out videos I have only done once since I bought them over 4 years ago.  Billy Blanks Boot Camp.  Oh, yea.  The stuff the military uses. 

I put it in and am going strong for about 10 minutes.  Then the constant squat position starts to get to me.  (I have really strong thigh muscles, but you try staying in a squat position for about 10 minutes and tell me your thighs aren’t screaming at you to stop.)  So I start just slightly bending my knees and continue on.  This works for about another 20 minutes when I just get tired of punching and kicking air.  I would rather be punch or kick a bag (or a person…).  It would be way more therapeutic for me. 

Once I turn it off and do some major stretching, I realize why I don’t ever do these videos.  They have now found their place in my trash can.

Writing:

This has been going extremely well.  I got so much writing done this weekend.  I got chapter 10 and half of 11 done.  And I was going strong too.  My pot of coffee, a wonderfully calm afternoon, and nothing on the schedule. 

Dante was holding down the other side of the couch for me, and giving me moral support whenever I needed it the most.  (or at least that is what I was hoping he was doing when he would stare at me with that really cute expression on his face…).

But I should have called it a night whenever I started watching the playoffs on Sunday.  (I watched it by myself.  Hubby was off paint-balling with some friends, and no one else was around.  So I suffered through the stressful game all alone.  But I guess I really didn’t care who won or lost, because it was essentially my home state vs my new state.  Funny huh?).  Once the game went into the 4th quarter, I called it quits for the night because I kept rewriting the same sentence over and over again. 

Overall, it was a good night.  One of the teams won and now I’m a lot farther in completing my second book. Yeah!!

    congrats on getting all that writing done! holy cow…i don’t think i could write that much in one sitting if i tried.

    and i totally get the whole punching a bag vs punching air thing. it just doesn’t feel like much of an accomplishment when you only have air to punch, though i’m sure it saves your knuckles from being bruised and sore.
