10 Things I Hate About Chrismas
1. Rude People: It seems that people are really on edge during the Christmas season while they’re out looking for their iPods and Nintendo Wiis. These people are so rude, think they’re the only ones out doing last minute shopping and feel the need to be jerks towards everyone. Have some respect for others why don’t you, it’s Christmas for Christ’s sake!
2. Crime: I hate that every year during the holidays there’s an increase of robberies and violent crimes. I think it’s friggin ridiculous that there are such heartless people in this world out stealing from others on Christmas. Isn’t it ironic how there are jackasses out robbing people blind when this is supposed to be the season of giving?
3. Money: Christmas has become a total money pit every year. We all flock for new things, like flies on a fresh piece of dog crap, and we don’t think about how much we’re really spending in the long run. “Who cares, it’s Christmas right?” Wait until next month when the credit card bill comes and see who’s jolly then. I guess we’ll just work hard for another year just to blow it all on overpriced crap.
4. Sales People: Listen I know what the hell I came here for. I don’t need any extra accessories nor do I want an extended warranty on something that isn’t for me in the first place. Didn’t I just spend enough? Throw the stuff in the bag, ring me up and let me get on my merry way without asking me a million questions.
5. Crappy Santas: Don’t you just hate when you see someone trying to dress as Santa and they totally failed? You know the ones at the mall who smell like Busch beer and cigarettes with their real black beard poking through the fake white one? Why are you guys even bothering if you can’t properly play the part? Oh and who the hell hires you all?
6. Cheap Ass People: While you all are out buying plasma TVs with Blu-Ray players there are others without jobs who cannot afford to give their kids a gift. Remember there are homeless people without food and young children without parents. Donate a few bucks to a local charity, bring some canned goods to a food drive or buy a kid a toy for ToysForTots. Stop being so greedy and give back just a little. Trust me you will feel good about yourself afterwards.
7. Spirit: What the hell happened to Christmas spirit? All everyone wants to do is take the Christ out of Christmas. Everyone is so sensitive now that we cannot express joy during the holidays unless we do it in code words. I think no matter what your religion is you should be free to express yourself however you’d like. If you want to say Merry Christmas you should be allowed to without offending someone!
8. Christmas Trees: It seems like a waste to me cutting down millions of trees just so they can die a month later with all the global warming going on. At least if you’re buying a real tree please have the decency to recycle it afterwards so all is not wasted.
9. Christmas Lights: I bitch about this every year and nothing ever changes. You would think that in 2009 we’d have some Christmas lights that don’t all go out from one bad bulb. Every Christmas I get mad trying to find that one problem bulb hiding from me like Chris Brown at a Rihana concert. Where are you broken bulb and why do you love to make my life a living hell?
10. The meaning: With the way things are today a lot of people have forgotten about the true meaning of Christmas. Sometimes we forget that Christmas isn’t really about new electronics, ugly ties or re-gifted fruitcakes. It’s about spending time with the people you love and caring for others. Take a few moments out of your busy schedules to put down your video games, iPhones or whatever and celebrate the holidays with the ones you care for. Don’t let the commercialization of Christmas get the best of you!
